Students were given a set of number cards 0-10. They worked together with a partner to see how many ways they could categorize the numbers into groups. After a few minutes, we had a class discussion on ways we could categorize the numbers. Then students researched one more way to categorize numbers (prime and composite) using the sites below. At the end of the class period, the students wrote both a definition and example for prime and composite numbers.

In pairs, students created their own division word problems. Their word problems had to include a 2 digit number divided by a 1 digit number with a remainder. They worked together to solve their own problem then posted it on the presentation. After each pair posted their word problem, the students solved each other's word problems.
